Juniors & Junior Match Fishing

PLEASE NOTE - Unfortunately we have had no applicants for the post of Junior Match Secretary, so it is with regret that the Junior matches scheduled for 2022 will not be able to go ahead as planned. We will update you and again once this position and support roles have been filled.
Our Society is proud that it has an active and growing Junior Section. It also has a full match calendar for those who want to be a little more competitive!
All matches are held in a casual and fun atmosphere and, dependant upon ability, Juniors can be given as much help as is necessary by their parent/guardian during a match. The
minimum that is required is for the junior to hook the fish and bring it in. If a landing net is required, assistance can be given. As Juniors progress and become more proficient, they are expected to do more for themselves to the point where they can fish on their own.

We are waiting to appoint a replacement Junior Match Secretary. Anyone who is interested should contact the Secretary.

The Society's qualified coach is Michael Cummins (1st4Sport Level 2 Coach - Qualification L2CCA) who has undergone a DBS check and has been 1st aid trained.
Mike has also passed the 'Sports Coach UK - Safeguarding & Protecting Children' Course.
Sean Moore is our Child Welfare Officer and can be contacted on 07719781676

The match calender for 2022 can be o
pened using the link in the side bar. Once opened, please scroll down to page 2. We hope that 2022 will be a great year for our Junior section with even more new members hopefully fishing the matches. The Junior Club Champion will be decided on a points based system with10 points awarded to the winner of each match, 9 points for second place, 8 points for 3rd place etc., etc. These points will be totalled up over all matches fished, with the winner having the most accumulated points.

We will be looking to book a Junior outing in 2022. Previously we have held this on a Saturday in September on Lake 3 at
Bradshaws Fishery and this will be open to any junior who has fished a match in 2022, with their guardian. This is a free event and includes peg fee and breakfast! Have a look at the photo's and video from 2019 - Junior Outing 2019

We will endeavour to communicate whether a match is on via the '
Latest News' page.
This is our
Junior Champion from 2020 - Alex Sunderland. He finished off in style by winning the last match of the season with this cracking net of fish.
